● CycloFusion Bicycle Fair this Sunday, May 20, next to the Ottawa River Pathway.

The Ottawa-Gatineau area is getting a new bicycle fair. It’s called ‘ CycloFusion‘ and it will be taking place this Sunday, May 20, from 9 am to 1 pm, in a parking lot next to the Ottawa River Pathway (near the Champlain Bridge exit on the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway).

CycloFusion will feature over 20 booths and interactive displays from various members of the local cycling community. This includes CycloFusion stakeholders, sponsors, and partners, as well as local bike shops, organizations, and clubs. There will be demos, bike repairs, music, information, and more.

CycloFusion is being hosted by EnviroCentre and MOBI-O in partnership with the National Capital Commission. It will help kick off the beginning of the NOKIA Sunday Bikedays and will also serve as an activity to promote Bike to Work Month.

CycloFusion will be filling a hole left by last year’s closure of MEC’s Bikefest, and the demise of Bushtukah’s annual Bike Night. Both these events provided a venue where local cycling organizations, club, and related stakeholders could come together to share information about their activities. It looks like CycloFusion could serve as a good replacement for these defunct events.
