Researchers say keep bike lanes and paths clear of snow & ice.
Researchers at McGill University say that Montreal now has enough winter cyclists that the city should keep its bike lanes and paths clear of snow and ice. They also point out that half of the cyclists in Norway and Sweden continue to use their bikes throughout the winter. Interestingly, their research indicates that the number of cyclists on Montreal roads during the winter were affected more by surface conditions than temperature.
