New signs on NCC pathways: No motorized scooters allowed.
It looks like the NCC is getting serious about keeping battery power motorized scooters off the NCC pathways. Last week signs were being installed at many points along the pathways which indicate that large electric scooters are not allowed on the paths (even if the scooters are equipped vestigial pedals).
After conducting public consultations last year, the NCC decided that battery power motorized scooters would be “prohibited” on the NCC pathways and the Sunday Bikedays parkways that are closed to motor vehicles. It should be noted that these restrictions do not apply to electric-powerassisted bikes that are physically similar to conventional bicycles, or to electric powered mobility aids (wheelchairs, three-wheel scooters, etc).
