Good turnout at the Free Bike Tune-Up in Britannia.

Organizers of the Free Bike Tune-Up in Britannia were very happy with the response to their event. This free bike tune-up took place Sunday afternoon (April 29) next the Ottawa River Pathway just east of the Britannia Park. Volunteers tuned-up bikes, made some minor repairs, and provided general advice about cycling.

One of the organizers said that some individuals were a little suspicious about getting a free service, but many cyclists took advantage of the opportunity to get their bicycles checked out.

The driving force behind this event appeared to be Recyclore, a non-profit volunteer organization providing the local west-end community with used bicycles and a do-it-yourself repair shop. For more information about Recyclore, go to:          http://recyclore.org/
