● MEC’s annual Ottawa Bikefest – Saturday, May 14, from 8 am to 3 pm.

Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) will be holding its annual Bikefest from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 14, 2016.

This is a free event that has something for cyclists of all ages and skill levels, including a Gear Swap (Bikeswap) where people can buy or sell used equipment, and clinics and workshops on a variety of topics such as bike maintenance, training and fitness, and so on. There will also be a number of groups rides at different speeds and distances led by MEC staff . Bikefest is a great place to get to know the local cycling community and pick up information about cycling from local advocacy groups, clubs, and organizations. (Note people wanting to sell at the Gear Swap or participate in one of the group rides should register in advance.)
